Great tips and to add more: Share your location with at least 2 family members, including when taking Uber, Lyft or Taxis. Email itinerary to family and email yourself a copy of your passport and drivers license. Cover the peak hole in your hotel room. Pick a room away from an Elevator. When traveling out the US pack your medication in its original bottle.

Embassy know you are in the country. 2. Purchase a small wood block wedge or similar door stop device and travel with it. Pick it under hotel room door or bedroom door if sharing a space. Criminals look for easy entry. 3. Get RF protection wallet to help prevent your credit/debit cards from be scanned while in public. 4. Sign up for a VPN service and download to all your electronic devices BEFORE leaving the US. Public Wi-Fi even in hotels is not/not secure.
